If you are considering a new roof installation of asphalt shingles or considering replacing the asphalt shingle roof, please be aware of these common installation errors. The following 5 errors may cause various problems that may not be resolved within the scope of the warranty.
1. Throw away old materials
You can see this through side projects (although it is often different from experienced professionals). Normally, the new band-shaped colored sand will be nailed to the old band-shaped colored sand, and the defective asphalt shingle roof is something that can be simply covered. Nailing a new band of colored sand on top of the old colored sand is like covering a piece of moldy bread with a new slice of bread. This mistake can open the asphalt shingle roof and severely damage it. When the top layer begins to separate, the asphalt shingle roof will lack proper support and padding. Asphalt shingle roof replacement or installation projects should include turning off the old ribbon-shaped colored sand.
2. Bad nail practice
How many nails does an asphalt shingle need? This depends not only on the asphalt shingles, but also on the slope of the asphalt shingle roof and the weather conditions in the area. In other words, people make mistakes when working on asphalt shingle roof installation projects. On average, most ribbon-shaped colored sand requires four nails. If the slope is very steep, it usually increases to six nails. All nails should be kept away from the adhesive tape used for asphalt shingles to help seal and prevent moisture. Please note that colored stone metal tiles and ceramic tiles may also have their own unique fastening requirements.
3. Bad tilt
Let's talk about what we call "bad" tilt. New asphalt shingle roof installations require very careful measurements to create the correct slope so that valleys and peaks meet smoothly. Various levels can be set according to the house design and weather conditions. However, the slope must accurately match the slope of other asphalt shingle roofs. Small mistakes can cause cracks, allowing moisture to squirm inside. Larger errors will jeopardize the integrity of the asphalt shingle roof. This is especially true for flat asphalt shingle roof sections (which need to be tilted carefully and still look flat but discard any water before they have a chance to gather). Any structured work should be trained and experienced.
4. Lazy sealing
The edges and metal strips along the asphalt shingle roof installation project must be carefully placed and sealed. It is difficult to find the leakage of the flash before the damage has been completed, so it is difficult to notice the defective flash. This lazy seal will overflow into the cushioning decision, and the wrong obstacle will suffocate your asphalt shingle roof or make it unable to defend itself.
5. Ignore the local climate
Inexperienced or low-quality asphalt shingle roof installations often ignore all the unique needs of your specific climate (and microclimate). What if the temperature in your local area is particularly low in winter? Additional attic vents may be needed to prevent condensation; if there is a lot of snow, this requires protecting the edge of the asphalt shingle roof to reduce ice dams; if there is excessive wind, bands of colored sand and lower slopes can help. Match your asphalt shingle roof to your location
